Lately gingers have been getting the short end of the stick. "South Park" didn't do redheads any favors with the ginger episode a few years ago and last week the worlds largest sperm bank said they are no longer taking donations from redheads. Apparently this discrimination towards gingers is going on throughout the animal kingdom. This baby seal from Russia has been abandoned by its mother and stays away from the rest of the harem of seals. 
The redness comes from accumulation of iron in its fur. The poor thing is also nearly blind. The photographer took the pup to an aquarium where it is being cared for. I have many redheaded friends and have a ginger beard myself so this story is sad on a few levels. Gingers need love too so this one is for all of you redheads out there, you guys rock!
